Sunshine, Dr. Pepper & David Lee Murphy

Sunshine, Dr. Pepper & David Lee Murphy.

A few days ago the sun showed its face for the first time in weeks it seemed. I’m probably being a little dramatic, cause that’s what I do, but it truly felt like it had been forever!

After shuttling the littles to school, squeezing in a quick work out with the oldest, taking care of some office business, I decided to make a Walmart run. Over the mountain & through the woods to Waynesboro I went.

I all of the sudden I was STARVING! We all know what happens when we go to the grocery store hungry. Since I didn’t want to spend a million dollars & buy every snack known to man kind, I decided to grab a quick lunch first. Only problem, nothing quick sounded good. Steak ‘n Shake, Chick-fil-A, Panera, nothing. Then I remembered the lunch menu at Applebee’s. But I was alone? My lunch buddies Kim & Helen were not available. I don’t know why they don’t keep their calendars free so I can invite them to lunch with an hour notice.

I decided I was a big girl. I could go eat by myself. I had all my social media friends to keep me company anyway! That’s what I told the waitress too. I’m awkward like that.

I had the best lunch! Tomato basil soup & Southwest grilled chicken salad. It was amazing! And water. You read that right. Super proud of myself for that one. I physically craved a Dr. Pepper but powered through. Although my dad, aka natural organic papa, says you might as well drink a soda instead of chlorinated water. It was cheaper with water, so there. The waitress was proud of me too.

Full but not over-full which sometimes requires a nap, I head to Walmart. The sun just makes everything better! Listening to my new jam Everything’s Gonna Be Alright” and singing along with David Lee Murphy & Kenny Chesney, the heaviness of all the physical & emotional, mental & spiritual needs I had been worrying (I mean praying) over seemed to lift. Nothing had changed with those needs, but the peace that I crave & feel after I’ve dropped them at my heavenly Father’s feet came.

Walmart was delightful. Really it was. Everyone is happier when the sun is shining. Even the people of Walmart.

After shopping I gave into my craving for Dr. Pepper. Sonic has the good ice. Ordered my small Dr. Pepper and the guy with the smooth deep voice working the drive through said “oh I’ll just give that to you. Drive on around.” What?! Talk about feeling rewarded!

Sun & Free Dr. Pepper. David Lee Murphy & Kenny Chesney. Everything’s gonna be Alright. God Winks.

Thanks for reading my ramblings. I hope that whatever your burdens are, you will be blessed with some God Winks that remind you that everything’s gonna be alright.

Shoot me a msg. I will join you in prayer. Everything’s gonna be alright!
