I just spent 7 glorious days at the beach with my girls & my sister & her family. There was a lot of laughing, eating, swimming card playing & more eating.
My girls attempted to make a lot of sandcastles when they weren’t jumping the ocean waves.
One day I watched as they would make a sandcastle & it would get washed away by the ocean waves.
Over & over again.
The waves were too strong.
They were building in the wrong place.
They were building on the wrong foundation.
While they didn’t seem to mind rebuilding after each wave, watching the sandcastles crumble, reminded me of the song we used to sing.
The song talks about the wise man building his house on the rock. When the rains came down & the floods came up the house still stood.
The foolish man built his house on the sand. His house was washed away when the rains & floods came.
I am so thankful for a rock to build my house on.
Because the rains will come.
The floods will come.
But if I trust in the Rock, in my faith in my Heavenly Father, I will still be standing when the storm is over.
And I pray that I am showing my girls where to build.
I pray that when it’s time to leave my house, they will build their house on the Rock.
And you know what?
If you find yourself being washed away by life’s storms, it’s never too late to rebuild your life on the Rock.
When you are ready to rebuild, just hop on over to the Rock. That’s a decision you will never regret.
You are loved!
